Internet-Enriched Lesson

We’ve gone through the history of Shakespeare and The Globe but before we begin reading, it would be beneficial to have a little more background information under our belts.

By the end of this activity, which will span the next 2-3 days, you will:

  • Get a sense of who the real Romeo and Juliet were
  • Experience what the real Verona was like (the setting of the play)
  • Peer into Elizabethan culture in England (when and where the play was first performed)
  • Understand Shakespeare’s language a little more
